WELCOME TO THE 2011 Offshore Challenge Series
The Offshore Challenge Series is comprised of 7 races to provide a venue for sailboats with an overall length of at least 24 ft to race in a non-crowded but still competitive environment.
The series consists of 3 overnight races and 4 day races. Two (2) throwouts are allowed. Thus in order to be eligible for a trophy each competitor must complete at least one night race. It is hoped that this series will encourage skippers who have not previously sailed overnight to participate with the added safety net of other boats in the vicinity. Scoring will be the "low point system" in which a DNS (did not start) will be scored one more than the total of boats participating in that specific race. At the end of the season the boat with the lowest point count wins the trophy.
Details are available in the General Notice of Races, and in the Sailing Instructions for each race. Changes to the Sailing Instructions these will be published on the CORA Website no later than 1900 on the day before the actual Race
